Khorasan wheat may be better known to you by its trademarked name, Kamut. This is an absolutely lovely starter, producing sweet, nutty, chewy breads that need astonishingly little kneading. We just dont have much to say about it other than to get some, because your mouth will explain why its so hard to explain this treasure for us!
KID APPROVED!! Our child taster was so delighted by this starters bread that she asked to have some (crusts cut off, please) in her lunch at school the next day. Yall know homemade bread in the school lunch-room is serious business! Our crusts were to crispy for a child whos losing baby teeth, but she was more than content to nom out on the crumb. This starter is well loved enough that we had to agree not to rotate it out in favor of others.
Ditch the store bought yeast packets and make your own live and active sourdough starter. Very easy to maintain using just 3 ingredients. Starter, flour, and water using a 1:1:1 ratio.
You will receive 1 teaspoon of dehydrated Desem Wheat Khorasan sourdough starter.
