Once heated in the microwave, it is used as a hot pad to relieve mastitis, clogged pores and to enhance milk flow.
It is used as a cold compress to soothe chest pain and relieve swelling due to overload.
It is used as a hot pad with a breast pump to facilitate the start of milk flow (let down) and minimize pumping time.
